The U.S. Department of State's Foreign Service is currently looking for applicants with a formal education or practical experience in information technology fields to fill information management specialist positions at embassies.

The positions, which could be at any of more than 270 posts overseas, in Washington, D.C., or elsewhere in the United States, offer paid housing or a housing allowance and paid education for dependent children in K-12 when serving overseas; health and medical coverage; federal retirement benefits; student loan repayment opportunities; paid leave and more.

Guiding the evaluation of applications are the "12 Dimensions" of foreign service specialists, including composure, cultural adaptability, information analysis, initiative, objectivity/integrity, plus oral and written communication skills, among other qualifications.

The application period is open through Friday, Jan. 27.
