A civilian DoD employee pleaded guilty on April 6 to scamming the government out of more than $141,000 in living allowance funds,
Koo Hyung Jung, 61, worked for the DoD's 501st Military Intelligence Brigade and admitted, as part of a plea deal, that he submitted false documents to get extra Living Quarters Allowance funds from the department in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
The false requests netted Jung $141,561, which DOJ officials said he converted to avoid paying taxes as part of his living allowance.
Jung was charged with one count of knowing conversion of government property and will be sentenced on July 1.
