The Department of Veterans Affairs has culled nine distinct maps of the U.S. into a single regional framework in what officials are calling "the biggest organizational change in VA history."
Regional offices will have to figure out how their services fit into the newly drawn lines by the time the new system is implemented, expected by the end of June, according to Military Times reporter Leo Shane.
"This is not about losing jobs," said Bob Snyder, executive director of the MyVA program office. "There is more than enough work to do at VA ... This is about improving the veterans' experience."
