The Census Bureau is advertising an opening for a CIO and associate director of IT based in Washington, D.C., and the bureau's Suitland, Maryland office.
The position opened up in July when former Census CIO Brian McGrath left the bureau for the same position at the Justice Department.
Specific duties listed in the job posting on USAJobs.gov include:
- Driving the IT investment review process and assuming responsibility over the entire Census Bureau IT enterprise;
- Working with the CFO to ensure IT portfolio analysis is an integral part of the Census Bureau's yearly budget process;
- Fostering line-of-sight between project teams and senior executives;
- Improving the overall management of IT projects by identifying, recruiting and hiring top IT program management talent; and
- Accountability for the performance of IT program managers based on their governance processes and the IT dashboard.
The CIO position offers a salary range between $121,956 and $183,300 a year. Applicants must be able to pass background screenings and be eligible for Top Secret clearance.
The deadline for submission is Nov. 25.
